Harper is a young girl who just lost her mother.  She is not even a little bit upset about this.  Think of the worst things a mother could do or be and that was her.  Harper is saved by a mysterious man with aquamarine eyes only to end up having to move back home to the MIDDLE of nowhere.  To a family she thought shunned her long ago.  Only to find out that this family was just waiting for her mother to bring them both back home.
The town she now lives in has a very Hatfields and Mccoys type of situation going on.  There is anger.  There is murder.  There is jealousy.
Harper is just trying to fit in where she can when she starts seeing a man in the Magnolia's under her bedroom window.  He wears the mask of the devil mixed with the Joker from Batman.  His eyes...are the same shocking shade of aquamarine that she remembers from her past.  But who is he?  What is he?  And why won't he leave her alone?
